The winds of nostalgia are blowing heavily on social media as many come to grips with the fact that 2016 is a decade ago. It’s pretty hard to believe that 2016 was 10 years ago; time certainly flies when having fun.

2016 was quite the big year for music, with multiple top artists from around the world and locally releasing albums that have stood the test of time.

Beyoncé took self-expression to another level with “Lemonade”, her sister Solange Knowles showed her powers with “A Seat at the Table”, and Kanye West released “The Life of Pablo,” the album he just couldn't stop tweaking even after it was released.

Locally, South Africans were blessed with tracks like “Ngud” by Kwesta featuring Cassper Nyovest that became etched as national anthems.
