Well, the Beckham family drama seems to have moved from a PR nightmare to a viral chart-topping plot twist, with Victoria Beckham’s debut solo single “Not Such an Innocent Girl” climbing to number one on iTunes UK and Ireland.

If you thought the Beckham saga was just another tabloid moment, think again. Victoria’s 2001 solo single, “Not Such an Innocent Girl”, has shot to number one on the iTunes charts in both the UK and Ireland. Yes, iTunes charts are still a thing.

This is all thanks to a social media campaign sparked by none other than her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.

The push for Victoria to finally get a solo number one came after Brooklyn posted a lengthy and explosive Instagram statement calling out his parents for controlling behaviour, manipulation, and interference in his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz.

Amongst a number of accusations, he claimed that his mother hijacked his first dance at his wedding to Peltz.

“Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me. She danced very inappropriately in front of me in front of everyone,” Brooklyn wrote.

“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” he added.

His posts went viral almost instantly because family drama seems to be what netizens drool over. Fans have since picked a side, and so far, it looks like they are team Victoria. Jumping on the drama bandwagon, a viral post led to a surge of streams of the former Spice Girls single.

“Nothing says British culture like collectively deciding to send Posh to the top of the charts because her son roasted her on Insta. Imagine both their faces. Let’s get her that number one for the plot twist of the year,” the campaign post read.

Even Brooklyn’s younger brother, Cruz, has reportedly stood in support of his mother, using the song over one of his Instagram stories.

“Not Such an Innocent Girl” originally dropped in 2001 after Victoria’s Spice Girls era. Despite the hype back then, it peaked at number six in the UK, beaten by Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”, according to reports.

Since the explosive rant from Brooklyn, fans have been loving the messiness of it all, flooding social media timelines with AI-generated memes of Victoria dancing “very inappropriately” at her son’s wedding.
