South African superstar Tyla is reportedly teaming up with Atlanta rap icon Future for a new FIFA World Cup 2026 track called “Game Time” on the 29th of May and fans are already treating it like a global moment for African music.
Early reports and social media teasers say the song is expected to drop this Friday as part of the growing soundtrack rollout for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The collaboration is huge because it blends Tyla’s amapiano-pop sound with Future’s trap energy, creating what many fans are calling a “global stadium anthem.”
The timing also makes sense: Tyla has already been confirmed as part of FIFA’s World Cup opening ceremony entertainment lineup alongside names like Katy Perry, LISA, Rema and Anitta.
For Tyla, this is another major career leap. After breaking through internationally with “Water,” she’s now becoming one of the key African artists attached to FIFA’s biggest-ever World Cup tournament.
The 2026 edition will feature 48 teams across North America and is expected to be the most watched FIFA event ever.
What makes the rumoured song even more interesting is that FIFA appears to be building an entire World Cup music universe instead of relying on just one anthem.
Recent releases tied to the tournament already include songs from Shakira, Burna Boy, Daddy Yankee, Shenseea and others.
Online reactions have been massive already, especially from African fans celebrating Tyla becoming one of the faces of the tournament’s music campaign.
Social posts teasing the track describe it as “Atlanta trap meets South African flavour,” with many predicting it could dominate clubs, TikTok and stadium playlists ahead of kickoff.
