Excitement builds as Tyler Perry begins filming ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’

A wave of excitement has filled the air after American multi-award-winning producer, Tyler Perry, recently announced that he has begun filming the third film in his iconic franchise, “Why Did I Get Married Again?”

Taking to social media, Perry revealed: “Really having fun with this group again! Filming is going great! It’s hilarious, poignant and powerful.

"Can’t wait for y’all to see this one! Here we go again!” he shared.

Before this announcement, Perry teased that the third film would begin early this year by posting the cover page of the “table draft” version of the script for the movie, with the caption “I’m just gonna sit this right here!”

The original film follows four married couples, who are also close friends, as they reunite once a year for a weeklong vacation together. 

While intended for relaxation and reconnection, the vacation swiftly exposes the underlying cracks in their relationships, becoming a challenging test of their bonds.

The returning cast of the third franchise includes Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker and Sharon Leal.

It is also speculated that Janet Jackson will not be a part of the third film, while a new face is joining the cast, the iconic and remarkable actress, Taraji P. Henson.

According to the “Deadline”, in the third movie, the couples reunite in celebration as Marcus (White) and Angela’s (Smith) daughter prepares to tie the knot. 

After being apart for quite some time, they learn quickly that as much as things change, they stay the same.

Realising their children have grown up to be so much like them, they must reflect on the examples they’ve set and ask themselves that age-old question, "Why did they get married… again?"

Fans flooded his comments as they expressed their excitement for the movie.
