Coppelia

This production is a charming 1870 comic ballet with playful mischief, colourful costumes and beautiful music. It is considered one of the last great ballets of the Romantic era and remains a beloved classic in ballet companies worldwide.

The story follows Franz, who becomes fascinated by a mysterious girl in a window, not realising she’s actually a doll created by the eccentric Dr Coppelius.

Where: The Artscape Theatre.

When: Saturday, October 18, at 7pm and Sunday, October 19, at 3pm and 7pm.

Circle Song

This play traces memory, time and family history. It centres around a narrator who moves across time, giving voice to characters from past generations who left Ireland and England for South Africa.

The piece is rooted in a real event: the writer’s mother awakening from brain surgery, believing she is fifteen.

Where: The Drama Factory.

When: Sunday, October 19, at 4pm.

FanTAPstic Tap Dancing Studio presents "The Grinchmas Story"

This holiday tap dance production is a retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic. The show follows the Grinch, the famously grumpy green mischief-maker who despises Christmas and plots to steal it from the joyful Whos of Whoville.

Disguised as Santa, he sneaks into town and swipes every last present.

Where: The Playhouse Theatre.

When: From Thursday, October 16, to Saturday, October 25, at 7.30pm.
