Snow White and the Zulu Warrior

Banished from her homeland, Snow White awakens in a vibrant African kingdom alive with rhythm, colour and spirit.

Guided by a fierce Zulu warrior and the magic of the blue cranes, she discovers that true beauty lies in courage, unity and the power within. But danger brews as the jealous Queen unleashes the poisoned marula fruit.

Featuring over 160 dancers and a fusion of ballet, contemporary, tap, pantsula and African-fusion, “Snow White and the Zulu Warrior” is a breathtaking dance spectacular celebrating Africa’s strength, soul and storytelling magic.

Where: Playhouse Drama Theatre.

When: Wednesday at 6.30pm.

Christmas in Concert

Be among the first to embrace the festive season with the Durban Symphonic Choir featuring AJ Bethke in their exciting performance, “Christmas in Concert”.

The programme includes classics such as “The Holy City”, “Joy to the World” and “Hark the Herald Angels” as well as exciting new works that will truly bring everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Where: St Joseph’s Cathedral, Mariannhill.

When: Sunday at 3pm.

Sinbad the Sailor

This is a riotous romp over the Seven Seas, in the company of the famous sailor, Sinbad, and his madcap crew and family.

Written and directed by Steven Stead and designed by Greg King, the production includes colourful sets and exciting Bollywood-inspired music and dance.

Rory Booth stars as Sinbad, with Bryan Hiles as Dame Donna Kebab, Lyle Buxton as Long John Slither, Belinda Henwood as Morgiana the Magnificent, and Roshanda Lewis as Marina. 

The show also stars Marion Loudon, Blessing Xaba and Mthokozisi Zulu.

Where: Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at UKZN.

When: Runs from December 4 until January 11.
