“I’m excited to collaborate with so many talented musicians and bring my sound to South Africa for the first time,” said international DJ and producer Monaco Laurèn.
He will make his South African performance debut at Rich Durban on Saturday, December 27, closing the festive season with a showcase that blends local talent with global innovation.
The line-up will also feature DJs Tira and Thuli Phongolo, creating a night of music and culture for audiences in the heart of the city.
The performance marks a milestone for Laurèn and Durban.
Known for his fusion of afro house, amapiano, and Afrobeats with global elements from Punjabi rhythms to reggaeton breaks, Laurèn has built a reputation for creating immersive musical journeys that move audiences across continents.
Laurèn told “Independent Media Lifestyle” that audiences can expect a full musical journey. “It’s a musical collage that takes listeners from their youth through their teens and into adulthood. People should expect a complete experience,” he said.
He also highlighted the opportunity to connect with local styles and artists.
“I enjoy playing gqom in my sets, and I look forward to collaborating with DJ Tira. It’s special being in the heart of where it all started,” he said.
Laurèn is also preparing to release a new album, “Down but Not Out”, in February 2026. The project reflects his personal journey and resilience.
“I faced financial losses, personal losses and family struggles. Music has been my healing factor. Through this album, I hope to share hope and good energy with anyone facing challenges,” he explained.
Outside the stage, Laurèn is looking forward to exploring Durban.
“The beach is what I’m most excited about. As long as I’m trading the markets while overlooking the water, I’m good,” he said.
