Multi-award-winning actor and director MoMo Matsunyane is making a foray into comedy with this personal stand-up theatre experience.
In this production, Matsunyane steps away from scripted characters and into her own story, inviting audiences into the complexities of her lived experiences.
The entertainer is renowned for fusing humour with emotional depth in works such as “UNLEARN” and “Ka Lebitso La Moya”, and with this show, she will create a space where comedy becomes both confession and catharsis.
This production forms part of The Next Draft, a partnership between POP Art and Joburg Theatre’s Youth and Community Development programme.

This production is an experimental theatre production being staged in Johannesburg this month as part of a collaborative series between POP Art and Joburg Theatre. The work explores the black queer body in Africa as a "living archive," using performance to reclaim visibility and resist historical erasure.

This play explores the silent battles people fight within their spirits, their minds and within their communities.
Through a fusion of dance, live music and dramatic storytelling, the show confronts the “massacres” that do not leave visible blood, but leave deep wounds - trauma, identity struggles, social pressure, generational pain and spiritual disconnection.
