It’s a few days until game time, and Tyla and Future are here to remind everyone that the heat is about to be turned all the way up.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) has officially announced that the pair’s new World Cup single, “Game Time”, will be released on Friday, May 29, as part of the official soundtrack for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.

The announcement comes as anticipation around the tournament continues to grow, with soccer and music slowly becoming one giant pop culture moment ahead of kick-off next month.

“Game Time” joins an already stacked World Cup soundtrack line-up. Earlier this month, Shakira and Burna Boy teamed up for the official 2026 Fifa World Cup song “Dai Dai”, while LISA, Anitta and Rema joined forces on another World Cup song titled “Goals”, which dropped on May 21.

The 2026 Fifa World Cup’s soundtrack is clearly leaning heavily into global collaborations this year, bringing together artists from different corners of the world as Fifa gears up for what is expected to be its biggest World Cup yet.

For Tyla, the new collaboration marks yet another major international moment in a career that continues to move at lightning speed.

The South African Grammy winner is also part of the star-studded line-up set to perform during the Fifa World Cup opening ceremonies across North America.

Fifa previously confirmed that Tyla will perform in Mexico City ahead of the opening match between Mexico and the South Africa national football team at the iconic Estadio Azteca on June 11.

She is also expected to perform again in Los Angeles on June 12 alongside stars including Katy Perry, Future, LISA and Rema.

The performances are part of Fifa’s massive plans for the 2026 tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

For the first time in World Cup history, the tournament will feature 48 teams and 104 matches.

Tyla’s involvement in both the opening ceremonies and one of the official soundtracks comes during a huge moment in her career as she prepares for the release of her upcoming sophomore album “A*Pop”.

The singer recently dominated headlines after winning both Social Song of the Year and Best Afrobeats Artist at the American Music Awards for her hit single “Chanel”.

Meanwhile, Future’s addition to the World Cup soundtrack adds another major crossover moment for the Atlanta rapper, whose influence continues to stretch far beyond hip hop.

The 2026 Fifa World Cup officially kicks off on June 11, while the final will take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
