November 11, 11/11, is internationally recognised as Singles' Day, a reminder that being single can be absolutely fabulous.
There are so many reasons why people are single these days.
Some of us have just emerged from a relationship, perhaps dusted ourselves off and realised the dating world is too much to handle.
Others have made a conscious choice because why would you settle when you can have the whole remote and the entire bed to yourself?
Then there are the optimists, those happily looking for love but firmly refusing to rush the process.
Whether you're happily solo, deliberately delaying, or just enjoying the peace, today is all about celebrating you.
No pity party required, just pure, glorious self-appreciation.
So, how do you make the most of this unofficial holiday?
Forget the sad rom-com stereotypes. Here are some real, celebratory ideas to make 11/11 your best day yet. Today, you are your own VIP.
Treat yourself: Instead of just buying stuff, invest in an experience. Book that massage, a facial, or a full-on spa day. Since there’s no need to consult a partner on the budget or the schedule, you do you!

An epic meal: Order the most luxurious takeout you can find. Even better, go to that Instagram restaurant you’ve seen everyone raving about with no worries about who’s going to pay the bill or going half-half with a person you’ve paired up with on Tinder.
A personal spa day: Run a bath with all the trimmings! The fancy salts, bubbles and those luxury scented candles. Put on a face mask that makes you look faintly terrifying. Play your favourite tunes (no sad songs allowed). Unplug and just exist in the tranquillity only a solo household can offer.

The solo movie date: Personally, this is the only way I prefer watching a movie. There’s nothing worse than having someone constantly asking you, “What’s happening now?” while you’re focused on a movie.
Try something new: Ever wanted to try pottery or perhaps keen on pole-dancing? Now is a great time to start a hobby that is purely for your own satisfaction.

Singles' Day is fundamentally about celebrating independence, self-love, and the sheer potential that comes with charting your own path.
You are whole, complete, and perfectly capable all by yourself.
So raise a glass to the best date you’ll ever have: you.
