Kids these days aren’t just doing homework, they’re drowning in it.

I see it with my own daughter every afternoon, and honestly, it makes you wonder when teachers expect kids to just relax and, well, be kids.

As parents, we all try to help when they’re stuck.

But one mom admits that, after seeing her children’s frustration, she often just gives them the answers, sometimes even doing their school projects for them.

Influencer mom Lottie Weaver, who has over two million TikTok followers, recently shared a video confessing how far she goes to help her kids.

Predicting some backlash from teachers, she opens her clip with: “If you’re my kids’ school teacher, just keep swiping.”

She explains: “After the kids have been at school all day, done their work, been on their best behaviour, and they come home with homework, sometimes I give them the answers to their homework.”

Weaver says her daughter, who is usually well-behaved at school, gets visibly frustrated during homework time.

“You can tell, she starts to get antsy toward the end, she’s starting to get frustrated. She’s starting to get over it. So, the last four or five questions, I just gave her the frickin’ answers,” she admits.

Despite the criticism she expected, Weaver says she doesn’t feel guilty because her kids are good students with great grades.

“Our jobs as parents is to help them,” she adds, explaining that she doesn’t want her children to have a negative experience after such long days.

And it’s not just homework. Weaver openly admits that she sometimes does her kids’ projects for them, too.

Many parents in the comments said they could totally relate. But not everyone agreed, especially teachers.

After a long day at school many kids are too exhausted to still have to do homework.

One teacher wrote: “Please don’t. As a middle school teacher, you’re doing them a huge disservice because you’re not building the stamina she needs as she gets older to do more and more work. If she needs it, take a break and come back to it.”

“Teacher opinion here. I would way rather a student have incomplete homework that they did themselves than just be given answers,” commented another.

Another wrote: “As a teacher, I would much rather you just not turn in the homework than have the parents do it. It’s a way for us to see what the kids know on their own when we’re not with them.”

Surprisingly, a few teachers chimed in to defend Weaver, saying they are against homework altogether.

“Elementary teacher here, and I am VERY anti-homework. It’s teaching kids that it’s okay to take work home once they’re grown and working real jobs, which is NOT okay,” said one teacher.

Another added: “As a teacher, I have never assigned homework in my 11 years of teaching, except reading at home! This is also why I do not accept evaluated tasks, like projects, to be taken home. It’s great that you are able to support your girls, but not every student has that opportunity unfortunately.”
