Somerset West has quietly welcomed a new dining destination that’s set to make a name on the Cape Town restaurant scene.
Bloom, the newly launched signature restaurant at Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa, promises to become a firm favourite among locals and visitors alike.
With just 30 seats, it offers an intimate setting where each plate tells a story of place, season, and passion.
Set within the lush surrounds of Erinvale, Bloom draws inspiration from the estate’s indigenous gardens.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is one of understated elegance - sophisticated yet warm and unpretentious. Expect floral murals, bespoke artwork, and delicate table accents that echo the beauty of the local landscape.

At the helm is Executive Chef Sebastian Smith, whose commitment to seasonality and sustainability is at the heart of Bloom’s philosophy. He works closely with small-scale farmers and local artisans to source the freshest ingredients, creating dishes that celebrate South African heritage and terroir.
The four-course summer menu is a journey through flavour and texture - think Sunflower Seed Praline with Date & Chilli Pumpkinseed, Boerenkaas and Guanciale starters, and mains like Karoo Lamb Two Ways and Waterblommetjie Bredie served with a Tamarind Jus.
To finish, the “Not-so-classic” Hertzoggie - a reimagined version of the beloved local treat with apricot and burnt coconut ice provides the perfect finale. Completing the sensory experience is a paired menu featuring local wines.

The menu changes with the seasons, ensuring that no two visits are ever quite the same. Whether you’re a hotel guest or a day visitor,
Bloom offers both elegant dinners and relaxed Sunday lunches. Each service invites guests to slow down, sip, and savour, making dining here less of a meal and more of a moment to remember.
