Following her elaborate traditional wedding, Queen Nomzamo Myeni has delighted the nation by sharing a glimpse into her enchanting bridal shower.
The Queen took to Facebook to share photographs of the intimate gathering held on Monday, December 15, just ahead of South Africa’s Reconciliation Day festivities.
The bridal shower was attended by a close circle of loved ones, who were donned in all-white.
Queen Nomzamo shone brightly in a delicate light blue long-sleeve dress and an icy tiara, embodying bridal elegance as she mingled with her guests.
Among the guests were Bishop Vincent Mafu, affectionately known as the “Rated-R Bishop”, who served as one of the speakers at the shower.
The day was filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter and bonding, as friends and family presented the Queen with gifts, each commemorating her transition into married life.
The Queen expressed her deep gratitude to her family, specifically highlighting the support she received from her maternal clan, oMdolomba.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my family for the beautiful bridal party you organised for me. Your love, support, unity, and effort truly touched my heart and made this moment unforgettable,” she wrote.
“Thank you for standing with me, celebrating me, and honouring this important chapter of my life. I am deeply grateful and proud to be part of such a loving family. May God bless you all abundantly.”
The Queen's wedding festivities have been a hot topic of conversation in recent weeks, particularly following her marriage to King Misuzulu kaZwelithini amid considerable public scrutiny.
Despite facing significant backlash, the couple showcased their commitment during two majestic traditional ceremonies last month.
The festivities commenced with an umkhehlo on Friday, November 7, followed by the traditional wedding on Sunday, November 9, coinciding with the King’s observance of the Sabbath.
The traditional ceremony was a star-studded affair, attended by politicians, including Julius Malema and Panyaza Lesufi.
During the reception, King Misuzulu publicly reaffirmed his love for his Queen, declaring, “If you love a person, you just love them. I’m following my heart.”
King Misuzulu currently has four wives: Ntokozo KaMayisela (1st wife), Nozizwe Mulela (2nd wife), Nomzamo Myeni (3rd wife) and Sihle Mdluli (4th wife).
