After months of "did they or didn't they?" speculation, South Africa’s favourite media darling Lalla Hirayama has confirmed that she and her longtime partner, Ross Mcilroy, have officially tied the knot on Saturday, April 26.

This wasn't just a wedding, it was a beautiful masterclass in blending cultures. The couple, known for their deep bond and private yet playful romance, honoured their roots at every turn.
In a tear-jerking moment, Hirayama walked down the aisle to the sounds of traditional Scottish music.
She was escorted by an elegant older Asian woman, presumably her beloved grandmother, creating a visual bridge between her Japanese heritage and Mcilroy’s Scottish lineage.
Hirayama was a vision in a classic white gown featuring a train that seemed to go on and on. Not to be outdone, Mcilroy looked every bit the dashing groom in traditional Scottish attire, complete with a kilt that paid homage to his ancestry.
The cultural tributes started early! At the pre-wedding rehearsal dinner, Hirayama stunned guests in a modern Kimono-style dress, a chic nod to her Japanese roots.
When it came to the reception, MolenVliet was turned into a lush dreamscape, featuring a canopy of overhead flowers and twinkling lights and a massive, glittering silver 80s-style disco ball that signalled exactly what kind of night it was going to be.
As the sun set over the vineyards, the outfits shifted.
Hirayama swapped her grand train for a flirty white mini-dress and stilettoes, perfect for hitting the dance floor, while her new hubby traded his kilt for a sharp, sophisticated black tuxedo.
Guests were treated to a culinary journey curated by the renowned John Joseph of Catering Avant Garde, ensuring the feast was just as artistic as the surroundings.
The couple have always been a low-key power couple, supporting one another through the highs and lows of the limelight.
They began appearing together in 2022. In 2023, they took a major step in their relationship by adopting a horse together named Africa's African Sky (Palouse).

Hirayama shared that Mcilroy was a huge support during her mental health journey, and buying the horse together was a symbol of their shared commitment.
He popped the question exactly one year before their wedding day. Hirayama shared the news of her stunning ring and the inspiration behind it, marking the start of their year-long road to "I do."
Their wedding at MolenVliet Vineyards served as the grand finale to their longtime bae status, transitioning them into the Mr and Mrs Mcilroy era.
