Sunrisers Eastern Cape's new orange kit: a bold statement of confidence for the 2025 SA20

SEC, a relatively new franchise based in Gqeberha, adopted orange as their primary kit colour when the team launched in 2022, matching the colour identity of its franchise “family”, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

When SRH unveiled their new “Fiery Heat” kit ahead of IPL 2024, they stuck with the same colour DNA, opting for an orange base with striking black patterns.

This year’s kit leans heavily into orange, with fewer black optic illusion prints. Cleaner. Sleeker. If last year’s design felt like a teenager figuring out their style, this one screams adulthood vibes - confident and unapologetic.

In the hype video ahead of the next season, Sunrisers Eastern Cape's captain, Tristan Stubbs, a right‑handed batter and wicketkeeper‑batter, sets the tone with full energy.

In the video making the rounds to get hyped up for the upcoming season, Stubbs says in a very dramatic and exciting way: “What is orange? What makes it great? What makes it ours? It reflects pride in every stitch, responsibility on every sleeve, and belief written all over our faces.

"It’s a feeling that runs deeper; it's fire  that refuses to fade, a mark of pride through every thread that belongs to these moments…”

The 2025 SA20 season kicks off on 26 December, with six teams competing for the title. Sunrisers Eastern Cape enter the tournament on the back of a strong campaign last season, finishing second in the points table, just behind the champions.

This year’s sleek orange kit reflects the team’s confidence and ambition. Every stitch, every detail, signals pride, responsibility, and belief, qualities that have carried the Sunrisers to the top of the SA20 rankings and set them apart as one of the league’s most recognisable teams.
