Southern Sun Partners with Durban Tourism to launch annual SunBreaks campaign

Southern Sun in partnership with Durban Tourism has launched its annual SunBreaks campaign, calling travellers to rediscover the coastal city.

The hospitality group said in a statement that it has embraced a renewed approach to destination storytelling—one that celebrates not just Durban’s stunning shoreline but its dynamic soul.

Supporting this vision, Durban Tourism recently launched its Summer Season Campaign under the theme: 'Visit Durban: Endless Waves of Tranquility'.  

The statement said the city is pulling out all the stops to ensure an unforgettable summer, further cementing its reputation as South Africa’s premier holiday hotspot

“Durban is having a comeback moment,” said Samantha Croft, Southern Sun’s Operations Director for the KwaZulu-Natal region. “It’s no longer just a place to relax; it’s a city to experience.  From our hotels along the Golden Mile to our properties inland, we are seeing a new generation   of travellers who are curious, connected, and eager to explore everything Durban has to offer.”

“Come and rediscover the rhythm of the coast, the warmth of its people, and the magic that makes Durban come alive,” Croft said.

“Durban offers more than beautiful beaches,” added Winile Mntungwa, Deputy Director of Durban Tourism.

“It’s a city alive with rhythm, resilience, and reinvention. Together with Southern Sun, we are showcasing that energy to inspire travellers to see Durban through a new lens.”
