Citroen South Africa has introduced updated versions of the C3 hatchback and Aircross compact SUV for the local market. The changes add technology and convenience features while retaining the existing engines, body styles and positioning of both models in the competitive B-segment.

The C3 and Aircross remain two of Citroen’s highest-volume products in South Africa and are aimed at buyers looking for compact dimensions, interior space and competitive pricing.

New standard features

Both the Citroen C3 and Aircross now include additional standard equipment previously not available or only as an option.

Standard features now include keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control with speed limiter and electrochromic (auto-dimming) interior rear-view mirror.

C3 powertrains and equipment

The Citroen C3 continues to be offered with 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engines. Customers can choose between naturally aspirated and turbocharged options.

The normally aspirated three-cylinder engine provides 60kW and 115Nm, coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the turbocharged version puts out 81kW and 205Nm, also driving the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

More features include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags and electronic stability programme (ESP) and exterior elements such as roof rails and wheel-arch cladding.

It is now also fitted with rear air vents and additional rear charging ports with 200mm of ground clearance.

The 1.2T Max seven-seater has a removable third-row seat, providing flexibility for passengers and cargo.

Safety

Both models are equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX child-seat mounting points and electronic stability control. The C3 and Aircross are based on platforms that have achieved four-star and five-star Bharat NCAP safety ratings in India.
