Reddam House Ballito and Umhlanga celebrate exceptional IEB results amid inspiring student stories

Inspired Education Group’s two KwaZulu-Natal institutions, Reddam House Ballito and Reddam House Umhlanga, have once again delivered exceptional results within the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) framework, marking significant achievements amid compelling personal narratives from the Class of 2025. Students across both campuses have boldly demonstrated not just academic prowess but also remarkable qualities of leadership, creativity, discipline, and resilience.

Across both schools, last year’s pupils achieved an aggregate average score of 75.46%, with students recording an impressive 2.8 distinctions per individual. Seven standout scholars earned placements in the IEB's Outstanding and Commendable national rankings, underscoring both campuses’ unwavering commitment to holistic excellence and sustained academic depth.

Reddam House Umhlanga's stellar performance

Reddam House Umhlanga set a high bar by achieving an average aggregate of 75.53%. A total of 264 distinctions were secured across the cohort, with an outstanding 75% of candidates gaining an A or B aggregate, showcasing their academic consistency.

Among their top achievers, twin siblings Rebecca and Daniel Major made headlines, both being honoured on the IEB Outstanding Achievements List. Four other students made it to the Commendable Achievements List, further demonstrating the breadth of talent at the school. Notable subject performers included Rebecca, who achieved Top 1% placements in Life Sciences, English Home Language, Mathematics, and Visual Arts, and her brother Daniel in Life Sciences.

Nqubeko (Moses) Xaba, who joined the school in Grade 10, epitomises the transformative power of education; his journey culminated in the launch of his first music single during the school’s valediction. The competitive yet supportive environment at Umhlanga encourages students like Chiara Collett, a national Biathle competitor, to excel both academically and athletically, illustrating an impressive balance of sport and study.

Chad Moses, head of Reddam House Umhlanga, expressed his pride in the results, attributing them to a combination of student diligence and dedicated teaching. “These metrics tell a story of students applying themselves consistently, supported by teachers who refuse to compromise on standards,” he said, highlighting the essential habits cultivated for future academic success.

Reddam House Ballito pupil Hannah Taylor was recognised on the IEB Commendable Achievements List for national-level subject performance, and received eight distinctions.

Reddam House Ballito's consistent excellence

Nearby, Reddam House Ballito achieved a commendable average aggregate of 75.25%, complemented by a full 100% Bachelor Degree pass rate. The school demonstrated impressive consistency, with 81% of students securing A or B aggregates.

Hannah Taylor distinguished herself with a commendable entry on the IEB's Achievements List, achieving eight distinctions, while Priyasha and Samishka Govender followed her lead with impressive results of seven distinctions each.

Catherine Raw, executive head of Reddam House Ballito, remarked on the importance of sustained effort, stating, “Our results reflect not only strong academic outcomes, but also the discipline and confidence necessary for success beyond school.”
