Two siblings from Lotus River in Cape Town have been missing for a week without any trace of their whereabouts.

Twins, Asanda and Asabonga Witbooi, 21, from Phumlani Village, have been missing since Friday, September 12.

The twins were last seen when they left their home at about 1pm. They were heading to collect documents in Philippi, whereafter they would have headed into Cape Town central business district (CBD).

According to reports, they have not been seen since.

Speaking to IOL, their aunt Thobeka Duzeni said the twins have never just up and left.

“The morning they said they would be heading to Philippi, where they would be collecting documents to get their security papers,” she said.

The aunt said that when the twins did not arrive home, the family went searching for them in Philippi.

“We went to Philippi. We went through the footage nearby where they needed to be. They never made it to their destination in the area. They do not know anyone in Philippi. We are extremely concerned about them and just want them to return home,” Duzeni said.

At the time, the twins’ father was out searching for them; their mother is believed to be in the Eastern Cape.

“We have been searching all over day and night. Their father has gone to the mortuaries to see if they may somehow be there, but nothing yet,” Duzeni said.

Western Cape police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, confirmed a missing persons docket has been opened at Grassy Park police station.

Kindly be advised that Grassy Park police registered a missing person case after the disappearance of 21-year-old twins who were last seen on September 12, 2025.  The search for them is ongoing,” Twigg said.

Anovuyo Oncke has been missing since September 6.
