Limpopo police have launched a search for a 12-year-old boy from Tiyani Village in the Hlanganani policing area after he went missing nearly a week ago.

The missing child, identified as Ndzawulo Mabasa, was last seen on Sunday, October 26, 2025, after leaving his home in the Mdono Section of Tiyani Village.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson Sergeant Mienkie Ramakgoakgoa, Ndzawulo informed his aunt that he was going to a nearby barber shop to get a haircut — but he never returned home.

“He left the house on Sunday afternoon, saying he was going to a local barber. Unfortunately, he never came back, and all attempts to trace him since then have been unsuccessful,” said Ramakgoakgoa.

At the time of his disappearance, the boy was wearing black trousers and blue sandals.

Police said Ndzawulo is light in complexion and is known to have a tendency to dress in female clothing and display feminine behaviour.

A search operation was immediately launched by officers in Hlanganani, assisted by local residents, to trace the missing child. However, despite extensive efforts to search around the village and surrounding areas, no leads have been found so far.

“Police are continuing with search operations and investigations to determine the whereabouts of the missing child. We are appealing to anyone who may have seen him or has any information to come forward,” Ramakgoakgoa added.

Community members are encouraged to assist law enforcement by providing any information that might help trace Ndzawulo.

Those with information can contact the investigating officer, Detective Captain Marivate, on 082 468 8673 or visit the nearest police station. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be shared via the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the My SAPS App.

The Hlanganani Police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and to report any sightings immediately.

“Every minute counts when a child is missing,” said Ramakgoakgoa. “We urge the public to help us reunite Ndzawulo with his family.”
