The much-anticipated quarterly crime statistics that provide an extensive overview of criminal activities recorded during the first and second quarters of the current financial year, which spans from April to September 2025.

The Acting Minister of Police, Mr Firoz Cachalia, said the murder rate has decreased, while gender based violence and sexual offences were unacceptably high. 

The much-anticipated quarterly crime statistics provide an extensive overview of criminal activities recorded during the first and second quarters of the current financial year, which spans from April to September 2025.

 

He said there have been double-digit reductions in robbery. 

"We must build safer communities, hold leaders accountable, and keep the faith that there is a safer South Africa in sight."
