The matric final exams are less than three weeks away, and the KZN Department of Education has confirmed that its all systems go.
The 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) final exams will officially begin on Tuesday, 21 October, with the Computer Applications Technology Paper 1 practical, and will run until Thursday, 27 November.
To ensure that the exams run smoothly, the Education MEC, Sipho Hlomuka, along with Premier Thami Ntuli, visited a printing Centre where exam papers are being printed on October 7.
In less than three weeks before the learners sit for their exams, MEC Sipho Hlomuka launched a spring camp as part of the final program leading up to the 2025 final exams. This is aimed at helping learners boost their ability and readiness to focus, memorize, and enhance their study skills.
“We are pleased to see that our Matric candidates are fully engaged in our Spring classes,” said Hlomuka.
In a statement, Hlomuka revealed that more than 50,000 candidates have registered for the NSC exams in KwaZulu-Natal.
Hlomuka reminded pupils the significance of the matric exams.
Therefore, across the country, extra support services will be available, including exam hotlines, counseling for stressed learners, supplementary revision classes, and access to past exam papers via provincial e-portals.
He also urged every learner to familiarise themselves with their personal timetable and commit to a consistent study routine.
“There is no shortcut to success. Only hard work and discipline will see you through,” added Hlomuka
In many areas, community groups and school governing bodies have been asked to minimize disruptions, especially near exam venues, to ensure learners can enter their halls in peace.
