One thing about two things, Durban's TikTok star Amari James could not believe her eyes when Grammy-winner Tyla paid her a surprise visit.

Amari, who was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus (A long-term brain condition where too much fluid builds up in the brain, making its spaces swell and press on nearby brain tissue) has adored the pop sensation and Tyla coming to meet her cemented the fact that dreams can come true.

Amari's mother, Iman shared the video on social media.

She told IOL that the life-changing visit took place in Johannesburg.

"It felt surreal when it happened. It was such a special and emotional moment for us," said James.

Amari on the other hand was wondering whether her imagination had run away from her.

"I couldn’t believe it! I was so excited and a little shy. My heart was beating fast and I just kept thinking, 'Wow, that’s really her!'" she said.

"Meeting Tyla has made me feel like anything is possible. She is kind and confident and seeing her in real life made me want to believe in myself more and keep doing what I love," added the TikToker.

Amari has faced a unique journey from a young age due to her health.

The incredibly resilient youngster wanted to share her incredible journey and strength with others.

"When we started there were so many people who could relate to Imari's diagnosis and asked for more of her personality," James said.

With Tyla and others as inspiration, Amari sought to change the world in her own way.

But she also has fun on the platform.

"I also enjoy the fun it comes with, expressing myself, and making people smile. I also love dancing and sharing my personality with others.

"My favourite song is 'Chanel' because it’s fun, makes me want to dance, and it always puts me in a good mood. And definitely reminds me that I'm a queen," said Amari.

Her mother added that despite the challenges, she continues to shine, stay positive, and inspire everyone around her.

"As a family, we’ve learned to embrace every moment and experiences like this to remind us how beautiful life can be," she added.
