The case involving Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola was postponed to May 13, where he is expected to appear alongside tender tycoon Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and 12 police officers linked to a tender plot.
Masemola appeared briefly at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The matter relates to a R360 million police health tender awarded to Matlala in 2024.
Masemola faces charges linked to alleged violations of the Public Finance Management Act.
The 12 officers, who are co-accused in the case, face charges including fraud, money laundering, and contraventions of financial laws.
They have been granted bail ranging from R40,000 to R80,000.
The postponement means all accused will now appear together as the state prepares to move forward with the case.
