SASSA December 2025 payment dates: Everything beneficiaries need to know

As the festive season approaches, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is set to make its final grant payments of 2025, bringing relief to millions of South Africans relying on social grants.

Timely payments will be made across different categories, ensuring beneficiaries can prepare for the holidays with dignity.

Older persons are scheduled to receive their grants on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, followed by disability beneficiaries on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Children and other grant recipients can expect their payments on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant recipients will receive their funds between December 24 and 30, 2025.

SASSA continues to make strides in improving access to grants through digital solutions.

Beneficiaries can now apply for grants online, offering a quick, easy, and convenient alternative to traditional in-person applications.

To apply online, all applicants need is:

• A valid email address
• Their identity document and any other required supporting documents
• A smartphone, tablet, or computer, or access to a SASSA Local Office kiosk or Wi-Fi

For those without internet access, SASSA Local Offices provide self-service kiosks where applicants can complete their application with assistance if needed.
