Search and rescue teams have recovered three bodies from the debris of the collapsed temple building in Redcliffe, Verulam.
Emergency services remain on site, working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to intensify the rescue operation.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation. Preliminary reports indicate the structure had no approved building plans, rendering it illegal.
Additional resources are being mobilised to strengthen extrication efforts and provide medical support to those affected.

Meanwhile, eThekwini Mayor Councillor Cyril Xaba has warned that there will be repercussions if wrongdoing is found.
“Consequence management will be implemented if the investigation reveals that some laws were flouted,” said the Mayor.
“The Municipality’s emergency services are actively supporting multi-disciplinary teams in a rescue operation on the scene," said the City.
Xaba conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery, stating that the municipality would conduct a full investigation into the incident.
Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, is also expected to visit the site on Saturday.
He will be joined by the KwaZulu-Natal Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Rev Thulasizwe Buthelezi, KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure, Martin Meyer, Council for the Built Environment (CBE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr Msizi Myeza, and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) CEO Bongani Dladla.
