The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued three Yellow warnings for damaging winds along the coast on Tuesday.
Along the coast between East London and Port Edward, two Yellow Level 2 warnings have been issued for places along the coast between East London to Port Edward, and areas between Tsitsikamma and Port Edward.
"The damaging winds can result in localised damage to settlements and temporary structures, localised disruption to power and communications, as well as disruptions of beach and port activity," the forecaster warned.
SAWS warns that high waves between Tsitsikamma and Port Edward could make it difficult to navigate small boats, with a risk of some vessels taking on water and capsizing.
Meanwhile, a Yellow Level 1 warning for damaging winds and waves has been forecast for areas between Port Edward and Kosi Bay.
Very cold conditions are expected over the northern interior of the Eastern Cape, in the Western Cape and in the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
In the Free State, Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the North West, it will be partly cloudy and cool to warm.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) reported that two sea kayakers had to be rescued after they were caught in strong currents and unable to get back to the shore on Monday.
"Our NSRI rescue craft Spirit of Surfski 7 was launched, and our NSRI rescue vehicle responded to Casino Beach.
"On our rescue vehicle arriving at Casino Beach, visuals of the 2 kayakers were established - they were one nautical mile offshore and about 400 meters South of their last reported position.
"Our rescue craft reached them, finding them in good spirits but exhausted from fighting against the sea currents," said NSRI Station Commander, John Nicholas.
He said the men were safely brought back to Silver Beach.
