A long-standing feud between media personality Ntsiki Mazwai and DJ Euphonik has resurfaced, following renewed tension over rape allegations that have trailed both figures for years.
The latest exchange unfolded after DJ Euphonik, whose real name is Themba Nkosi, made comments about Mazwai during an interview on Gagasi FM.
Central to his argument was the demand for an apology, which he claimed she had failed to deliver despite having lost multiple legal battles against him.
“Ntsiki Mazwai, we went through that whole thing, and we’ve asked her so many times to apologise. She has lost three or four cases with us, and she just does not want to apologise,” said Euphonik.
“At some point, she tried to get other musicians and artists involved to get an apology. All I said is, if she apologises on the same platforms where she made the claims and leaves it up for 30 days, that’s all it takes. If not, I’ll have to take it the whole nine yards; by the time I’m done, she won’t have a bank account. All she needs to do is apologise and say, ‘Hey Euphonic and Fresh, I’m sorry,’ on Instagram or Twitter.”
Mazwai, who has consistently positioned herself as an advocate for victims of gender-based violence, hit back on social media, rejecting Euphonik’s remarks as false and standing firm in her stance.
“Where is the digital footprint of me calling him a rapist? Where is the tweet? Would it not have trended? Wake up, South Africa, and see this for what it is! And why am I expected to apologise for something I didn’t do?” she posted.
The dispute between the two dates back several years, linked to allegations that involved Euphonik and fellow DJ Fresh, both of whom have denied any wrongdoing.
