Well-known content creator Sabelo The Kreator has broken his silence after allegations of sexual abuse surfaced on social media over the weekend.
Sabelo, known for his widely followed Sunday videos, trended after multiple accounts, including one under the handle “PIERRE-O”, accused him of abuse allegedly dating back to his university days.
In a detailed statement posted on social media, Sabelo denied all allegations. He stated that he has never met or interacted with the individuals making the claims and stressed that he has no knowledge of any alleged incidents.
“I do not know ‘PIERRE-O’, and I have never had any interaction with them at any university or elsewhere, let alone had a romantic relationship or otherwise,” he said.
“I deny that I raped, or alternatively, attempted to rape, ‘PIERRE-O’ or any person for that matter. My stance against sexual violence has always been clear; I believe victims, and I stand with victims.”
Sabelo also encouraged anyone who believes they are a victim of his conduct to follow formal legal channels by approaching the South African Police Service and committing to cooperate fully with any investigations:
“I commit to supporting the process, even using my own resources. From the moment I am made aware of charges, I will cooperate fully and not interfere with the legal process in any way.”
He concluded by expressing concern for his followers, many of whom are South African women, and asked for the allegations to be tested in established forums rather than social media:
“While I vehemently deny these allegations, I ask that they at least be tested in established forums. I give you my word, being a sexual predator is not one of my faults.”
The controversy comes at a time when South Africa continues to grapple with the impact of gender-based violence, placing Sabelo’s statement under intense public scrutiny.
