Limpopo police have launched a manhunt after a 56-year-old caretaker was found brutally murdered during a house robbery in a Polokwane residential area.
The grisly discovery was made on Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025, when the landlord arrived at the property around 11am. He noticed the gate slightly ajar and the main door wide open, with the house ransacked. Inside, he found the caretaker lying in a pool of blood.
Police confirmed that the victim had been stabbed and tied up. He was certified dead at the scene by paramedics.
According to a preliminary report, the man was last seen alive on Friday afternoon, 19 September, by his co-worker. His body was only discovered five days later.
Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, has activated a multi-disciplinary team to track down the unknown suspects. Investigations are continuing.
