Province make waves

Western Province's domination of schools water polo continued at the SA Schools interprovincial tournament held in Cape Town during the holidays.

They had a side in all of the six finals played, winning four of them - the boys and girls Under-14 sections, and the Under-16 and Under-19 girls.

Gauteng won the boys Under-16 section, while KwaZulu Natal took the honours in the Under-19 boys competition, beating the Western Province B side 12-5 in the final.

Gauteng's Under-16 and Under-19 girls made it into their respective finals where they were both beaten by the hosts.

Gauteng did have the consolation of getting three players into the boys Under-19 A side, two into the boys B team and five into the Under-19 girls A team.
