All roads led to Maracana in Sandton on Saturday, where The Star’s annual Women’s Day celebration, The Choice is Yours, came alive in a dazzling display of unity, resilience, and achievement.
Women from all walks of life gathered to uplift one another, showcase their remarkable contributions to society, and proudly embrace their crowns.

The event offered attendees a space to feel free, release their burdens, explore their capabilities, and recognise the vital roles they play across all spheres of life, with a strong emphasis on overcoming obstacles and celebrating themselves with confidence.
Renowned comedian and actress Celeste Ntuli lit up the stage as host, keeping guests in stitches with her sharp humour and effortless charm, while creating an atmosphere of excitement and connection. She shared her delight at being part of the celebration and her hope to host the event again next year.
“The Star’s Women’s Day event was truly amazing, offering women a full package, from understanding the law and personal empowerment to self-care, inspiration, and connection with others. I hope to return as the host next year,” Ntuli said.

The day featured a diverse lineup of speakers offering mentorship and insights on law, women’s empowerment, sexual health, skincare, therapy, spiritual readings, and more, all accompanied by uplifting music.
Nkosazana “DJ Nkosh” Mayeye from Radio 2000 kept the crowd on their feet with an energetic set, reflecting on the deeper meaning of her participation.
“What started as just excitement to be involved in an event with such a powerful purpose has turned into a true connection,” she said. “Over the years, it’s grown into something much deeper. I’ve connected more with the community, understood the energy of the event, and started to see how music can truly shift the atmosphere. It’s gone from being a gig to a calling.”
Tebello Motshwane, Managing Director of Sister in Law, provided attendees with insights on legal matters, empowering them with knowledge about their rights.
“The Choice is Yours is a powerful platform that celebrates women while equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their lives and families,” he said.
Kgomotso Masela, affectionately known as Spicey Luscious, delivered a bold and inspiring session, encouraging women to embrace and celebrate their bodies with confidence.
