Thapelo Mokoena has given fans and followers a glimpse into his softer side and family life. The KZN-born and raised actor took to Instagram and shared his birthday celebrations.

He celebrated his 43rd birthday on October 21 with a family vacation in the North West, accompanied by his wife, Lesego-Tsepang Mokoena, and their two sons, Lefika and Lereko.

The family visited Sun City and experienced all that the resort has to offer.

From swimming in the Valley of the Waves to enjoying a safari game drive at Pilanesberg National Park, the family had a memorable adventure.

“My birthday weekend was a pure treat for the family and me. So much was experienced, and we still couldn’t explore and finish our full itinerary. This reel captures a portion of our experience."

"It’s so good that it’s overwhelming. The @mokoenaboys were in heaven 🩵. This is on our calendar at least six times a year from now on,” he said.

Sun City is a world-class family-friendly destination with a wide range of attractions, including adventure activities like ziplining and quad biking, and world-class golfing on two championship courses.

Mokoena’s career spans nearly two decades.

Although he's best known for his dashing good looks and unintentional ability to make people swoon, his prosperous career is defined by his love for people and his enduring ability to connect with them.

The father of two worked as a television presenter for years and starred in several commercials before his breakout role as Gabriel on the iconic SABC1 soapie "Generations".

Growing up in Ladysmith in a big family, Mokoena has openly admitted that he enjoys humanity and being with people.

This philosophy extends to his family life.

As a father, he has revealed in the past that his contracts come with family, and they travel with him wherever he goes.

“I never disconnect from my family - ever. I would hate to be a star out there and never be with them," he told local media.
