Acclaimed jazz vocalist and two-time GRAMMY® Award winner Gregory Porter is set to return to South Africa for his highly anticipated Love is King SA 2025 Tour. This exciting event will take place across three major cities, beginning on Saturday, 12 November at GrandWest in Cape Town. The tour will then move to the DP World Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 15 November, before concluding at Durban’s ICC on 19 November. Each concert will kick off at 20h00, promising an unforgettable evening of soulful music.
Porter is no stranger to South African audiences, having mesmerised fans at the Joy of Jazz Festival in both 2014 and 2015. His last visit in January 2023 saw him perform a series of six sold-out concerts, each a testament to his immense popularity. "Gregory Porter’s presence—both his commanding voice and heartfelt music—resonates deeply with South African audiences," said Tony Feldman of Showtime Management. "We’re thrilled to welcome him back and to share his extraordinary talent with fans once again."

In a heartfelt message shared during his last visit, Porter expressed, “For me, music has always been about coming with a humble and honest expression about love and life. South Africa, I’m humbled by your exuberant radiant love.” He further added, “Two years later, I return with my 'King of Love' SA tour—a continued celebration of the incredible people of this nation.”
Hailing from New York and easily recognisable by his signature cap, Porter’s deep, booming baritone voice has drawn comparisons to legends such as Nat King Cole and Donny Hathaway. His unique blend of jazz, gospel, soul, and blues has made him a notable figure in contemporary jazz, enjoying critical acclaim and commercial success, particularly in the UK and Europe, with a devoted following throughout the African continent.
In addition to his musical triumphs, Porter has diversified his talents through various creative ventures. He released his debut holiday album, Christmas Wish, in 2023, and hosts the podcast The Hang, featuring conversations with his famous friends. Additionally, he has launched his own cooking show, The PorterHouse, where he shares family recipes and experiences from his travels.
