Speaking of the collaboration, Lady Linda Wong Davies, the visionary behind the KT Wong Foundation, shared her enthusiasm for the initiative: “Opera UCT represents the very best of South Africa’s emerging talent—the discipline, the passion, and the artistic courage that move audiences everywhere. The KT Wong Foundation is honoured to help bring Enchanted Baroque to life in such a historic setting.”

Wong Davies's foundation has been pivotal in fostering artistic exchanges across cultures, demonstrated in recent projects like the operatic production of "Porgy and Bess" in Beijing and "Marvellous Realism," the first African photographic exhibition to showcase in China.

Professor Silver, who also serves as Director of Opera UCT, expressed the significance of the concert: “Bringing Baroque music to life in the heart of St George’s Cathedral is something truly special. The acoustics, the atmosphere, the architecture—all lend themselves to the beauty and intimacy of this repertoire. More than that, this concert supports the next generation of young opera singers in South Africa.”

Gavin Rajah, an acclaimed designer with a long-standing connection to the arts and cultural philanthropy, has added his vision and support, framing the concert as one of Cape Town's must-attend artistic experiences this festive season. His recent contributions to Opera UCT's production of "Die Fledermaus" further underline his commitment to nurturing the creative talents of the country.

The evening will also feature an exclusive post-performance reception at The Labyrinth, located within the Cathedral, providing a unique opportunity for patrons to celebrate the festive season and connect with fellow music enthusiasts. This added experience enhances what promises to be a magical December evening.

In line with Opera UCT’s commitment to accessibility, discounted tickets are available for patrons under 18 years and senior citizens, ensuring that “Enchanted Baroque” is an inclusive experience for families, students, and older music lovers alike.
