This winter school holidays, children across Cape Town have a colourful lineup of activities to spark creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning — from robotics and crafts to slime-making and glow-in-the-dark fun.
Running over two weeks from 7 to 17 July 2025, Robokids offers interactive robotics lessons for children from Grade R to Grade 9. No experience needed — just a passion for discovery and fun!
Week 1 (7–12 July):
Grades R & 1: Build a Lego crocodile and program the Cubetto robot on a swamp map.
Grades 2–4: Create Bluetooth-controlled robots using Lego Wedo 2 kits and program them via tablets.
Grades 5–9: Program an EV3 base robot to complete a challenge saving a lion.
Week 2 (14–17 July):
Grades R & 1: Build mechanical Lego robots and program them with the Wedo 2 hub.
Grades 2–4: Continue programming Lego robots and explore problem-solving.
Grades 5–9: Build and program a Wedo 2 Elephant robot and create a conservation ad using Microsoft Word.
Each one-hour session costs R110 per child or R180 for two children booked together. Book via WhatsApp at 064 504 2851 or email info@robokidsa.co.za. Spaces are limited.
For children aged 7 to 12, Sol Tribe runs immersive crafting sessions in Constantia from 30 June to 18 July 2025, 9am–12pm daily. Kids gather by the fire to bake bread, make soup, and explore crafts like wet felting, spoon whittling, candle making, eco-printing, and indigo dyeing.
Parents can book one or multiple days; children take home their handmade creations.
