Award-winning rapper Nasty C (real name Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo) has spoken out about struggles with his mental health.

The rapper revealed in a video he posted on Instagram on Wednesday that since December, he has been dealing with personal challenges that have taken a toll on him emotionally.

Besides dropping hits and going independent, the rapper is also known to post funny, cool and creative content on his feed, and lately there hasn’t been much of that.

“What's up, everyone? I hope you guys are feeling good. I hope you guys are doing okay. Look, in a weird way, I feel like I have to apologise for the lack of content the past couple of months.

“I haven't been in the right headspace to make any kind of cool, happy content because I have not been happy. Yeah, bruh, I've been going through it. I've been just in the pits for the past couple months, man, since December,” he said.

The “Black And White” hitmaker admitted to his fans that he has been dealing with personal issues, which have made it difficult for him to produce content, explaining that he has been unable to entertain or motivate his fans as he normally would.

“I’m a human being, I can’t be an entertainer for you right now. I can’t dance for you, I can’t be funny, I can’t even motivate you right now. I need all that stuff,”  he said.

Nasty C has been sharing content that has captured the hearts and attention of his fans. The rapper explored everyday jobs to get a firsthand look at the realities of daily work life, documenting his experiences in a social media series.

The rapper’s content had resonated with many fans. In one episode, he worked as a panel beater mechanic, tightening bolts and aligning wheels in a busy tyre shop.

He also served as a cashier at a Spar supermarket, assisting customers and packing groceries, and even spent time in a local barbershop, sharing clips of himself giving haircuts.

Despite his creativity, Nasty C has admitted that things have not been easy. However, the rapper assured his fans that his personal issues remain private and have not impacted his music or career plans.

“I'm going through it, man, but it's only on the personal side, okay? You don't have to worry about anything Nasty C-related,” he explained.

He further asked fans for their support ahead of his upcoming project, a deluxe version of his widely praised 2025 album “Free”, which will be released on March 14.

Nasty C asked those close to him not to call or text, emphasising that he does not have it in him right now to talk but asked his fans and friends to bear with him, assuring them that things will get better and that he will be fine.

“I don't have it in me. Okay, so bear with me. Things will get better. I'll be fine. If I could somehow bypass all my personal stuff and just focus on the business only,” he added.

The rapper also sent well wishes to his fans, hoping their week and year are off to a good start, and said he’ll reconnect with them when the time is right.

Maglera Doe Boy, Lady Du, Somizi and Pearl Thusi are some of the industry people who reached out in the comment section for some words of encouragement.

His fans also assured him that they will hold up space for him and stream his music. They also reminded him how much they appreciate and wished him strength as well as love.
