Every nine-to-fiver’s favourite holiday is approaching. The grind is real, and so is your glow. While Workers’ Day is all about slowing down, consider this your reminder for when you’re back at your desk, and the after-work plans roll in.
Because let’s be real, they always do. One minute you’re wrapping up emails, the next it’s “drinks at 6?” or a last-minute dinner plan with your dating app match.
And suddenly, you’ve got five minutes to pull yourself together. That’s where this comes in. Think of it as your go-to routine for turning “end of workday” into “ready for the evening” using only what’s already in your bag.
Either way, you’ve got exactly five minutes to glow up. Here’s how to do it:
Remember, this is not a full beat tutorial. This is the art of looking refreshed after a long day, like you planned this all along, while using what you have in your bag.
The clock is already ticking, so let’s get straight to the first minute. The first step is to remove the shine that came with all those hours staring at your laptop screen.
Dab a tissue on your T-zone, gosh! Nothing is as stubborn as a T-zone; that area collects all the oil from your skin.
Dust a little pressed powder over your forehead, nose and chin. Then tap some concealer under your eyes and around your nose. Blend with your finger and voila! You just erased exhaustion from your face.

This is where blush does heavy lifting. Cream blush is the fastest. Smile and dot it on the upper part of your cheeks, then blend up toward your temples.
And if you don’t have cream blush, your lipstick doubles up perfectly.
A bit of concealer under theeyes and around the nose to conceal the eyebags you get from exhaustion.

Swap your work lip therapy for some gloss. Clear gloss catches the light and says, “I’m off the clock”.
Next, grab that mascara and curl your lashes; one well-applied coat does the trick, and the lift opens your eyes.
Nothing beats a classic glossy lip!

Four minutes in, it’s time to retouch the hair. Always have a comb or brush in your bag because how do you leave the house without any of those? We’re working with little time, so I wouldn’t recommend deciding on a different hairstyle.
Brush away all the fluff, and you're back to looking like it’s 7am and you just walked into the office.
A quick brush up gets things back in order.

At this juncture, it’s time for a spritz of perfume. Spray some on your neck and wrists. Swap studs for hoops or statement earrings. Roll on a bit of that scented body oil if you packed it.
Now you are good to go. You just turned “just finished work” into “ready for dinner” in the time it takes to microwave leftover pap.
The star of the show enters the chat. Some perfume to seal the look.
